JOE POTTY, PGA WINS THE 2016 NEW ENGLAND PGA MASSACHUSETTS CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP BY ONE
Sterling, MA- Joe Potty, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Cohasset Golf Club in Cohasset, MA won the New England PGA Massachusetts Chapter Championship today at Sterling Country Club. Joe fired an impressive two under par 69 and finished one shot clear of Eric Barlow, PGA Director of Instruction at Winchester Country Club in Winchester, MA and Mark Mangion, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Haverhill CC in Haverhill, MA.
Joe had a jump start to his round when he birdied the first hole and he followed suit with three more birdies and a bogey to finish the front nine at three under par (33). He then used a steady hand as he made eight pars with just one bogey on the back nine (36). Eric Barlow had a round that many golfers dream of as he recorded 15 pars, two birdies and just one bogey to finish at one-under par (70). Mark Mangion had a sporadic front nine with two bogeys, one double bogey and two birdies. Mark countered with three under par 32 on the back nine to finish with a one-under par (70).
It was a storybook ending for this year’s Massachusetts Chapter Championship. The event came down to the wire and Joe Potty recorded his first win and lowest round as a PGA Professional.

Mark Nowosielski, PGA Wins the 2016 Massachusetts Chapter Beverly G & T Individual Stroke Play by One
Beverly, MA - Mark Nowosielski, PGA Head Golf Professional at TPC Boston in Norton, MA, won the Massachusetts Chapter Individual Stroke play event at Beverly Golf & Tennis Club on Wednesday, August 17. Mark fired a three over par 73 and finished just one shot clear of Drew London, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at the The Country Club and Brian Keiser, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Weston Golf Club.
Mark had a slow start on his front nine as he carded two bogeys and one double but finished strong by birdieing the ninth hole. He continued to catch fire on the back nine as he carded three birdies to finish the back nine even par. Drew London had an even par front nine and a three over back nine. Brian Keiser had a steady front nine with seven pars and two bogeys. On the back nine, Brian had a strong come back after his bogey on the 11th hole as he went par, birdie on the next two holes. He went on to shoot two over on the back nine.
