Event Highlights: Pro-Senior Championship

Monday, July 17

Natanis has always been one of my favorite spots in the state of Maine to come back to. I had some great moments growing up playing golf there throughout high school. I can speak for most of us who have either coached or played high school golf in Maine. Natanis is a huge supporter for High School golf in Maine, and continues to do so. This was my first time back up there since I graduated, and I’m ashamed it took me this long to do so. Natanis Golf course was extremely generous to the Maine Chapter today, allowing us to use one of their two Championship golf courses. We had phenomenal weather for what seems like our first event in a while. It was overall a great day to host our second championship of the season, with our Pro-Senior Championship.

Event Highlights: Pro Veteran at Martindale

Tuesday, June 27

Our first annual Pro-Veteran was a great success today, as all teams were required to consist of at least one veteran. Some of our professionals went above and beyond to secure three veterans for their team. The event was played just as any other pro-am would be 2 of 4 1gross + 1 net. As a Chapter we are the first to host such an event, hopefully this will lead to other chapters recognizing what we held, and they can start to follow our lead. This is a small step forward in our efforts to return the favor to all those who have served our country and continue to do so. There are multiple directions we can take this event in the coming years. I’m hoping to make this a must attend event, where we can create a waiting list for teams to get in the field. Dan Hartman of Oakley was generous enough to sponsor the event today and provide some spectacular product to our winners! We can’t thank Dan enough for the support; hopefully we can continue the partnership as Oakley is adamant about giving back to our veterans! Dan’s contact information can be found below, please reach out to him with a nice thank you!
