Inaugural SMGA New England Bob Beach PGA Pro-Am Vet Was A Classic

Thirty Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) veterans played along with 17 NEPGA Pros and 33 Sponsors and golfers at George Wright GC on July 9th. Our Honoree Bob Beach, PGA, who is SMGA New England’s Head Golf Pro was presented with SMGA gifts and a custom fitted set of TaylorMade Golf Clubs and golf bag.

SMGA Veteran USMC Matt Lydon shared his Saddam Hussein custom made putter story. The NEPGA members, many of whom have given lessons to our SMGA Vets, competed for $1,850 in prize money & skins game.

Tim Watroba, PGA (Thorny Lea), Brendan Reilly, PGA (The International) and Camrin James, PGA (Ferncroft CC). Bob Guisti, PGA (The Back 9 Club) shot a nifty 74. Todd Cook cleaned up, winning four Skins. Scott Allen, PGA of George Wright GC hosted the event and we were delighted with the conditions and layout of this classic Donald Ross Designed Golf Course. SMGA IRAQ Combat Veterans Rory Thornton & Mike Moran were reunited and played together.
