PGA REACH New England is excited to announce that our Camp REACH initiative will be returning for 2025!
During a challenging time for any family with an ill child, our NEPGA Professionals truly impacted lives during the 2024 season, and we cannot wait to do it again in 2025. Over 120 families were welcomed to Camp REACH, a traveling retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses, utilizing inflatable animals, mini-golf and more to help loving families experience the fun that the game of golf can bring.
Our NEPGA Professionals will continue to grow the sport in all demographics by bringing golf to campers, offering onsite instruction through the use of inflatable animals, SNAG equipment, BirdieBall and more.
Camp Sunshine (Casco, ME) ~For 40 years, Camp Sunshine has provided hope, joy, and community through unique experiences for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
PGA REACH New England and Camp Sunshine began their collaboration in 2022 and since have worked together to incorporate the game of golf into their regular camp activities. Since 2022, PGA REACH New England and numerous PGA of America Professionals have had the opportunity to impact and provide golf instruction for 120+ families attending Camp Sunshine!
We look forward to continuing this relationship and heading back to Camp Sunshine in 2025!
ADA Camp Carefree (New Durham, NH) ~ Established in 1976, ADA Camp Carefree is a lifeline for children living with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing their diabetes. Attending camp helps children develop social skills, self-respect and make life-long friendships.
PGA REACH New England and American Diabetes Association began their collaboration during the 2024 season. Camp Carefree welcomed Foundation staff and (4) New England PGA Professionals in July to introduce the game of golf using inflatable animals and SNAG equipment to 40+ campers!
Thank you to ADA for the opportunity to visit camp and we look forward to visting again in 2025!
Zebra Crossings (Portsmouth, NH) ~ In 2009, Zebra Crossings set out to change the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses by becoming the first organization in the region to provide year-round, medically supervised programs. Zebra Crossings’ programs are intentionally designed to further develop each child’s skills, boost their independence, and reduce anxiety based on their condition. Programs are small and intimate in size with an average of 20-25 participants.
PGA REACH New England had the chance to visit Camp Spinnaker in August of 2024, introducing the game of golf to 25+ children with asthma and their families! Thank you to Zebra Crossing for hosting us and we look forward to collaborating in 2025!
