Northbridge, Mass. – The New England PGA hosted the 2022 Whitinsville Pro-Am at Whitinsville Golf Club on Monday, June 6, 2022. 26 teams traveled to compete in the 2 best ball of 4, 1 Gross +1 Net Pro-Am event. The weather proved to be one of the best days for competition this spring.
Zach Mahan, PGA of Cohasset Golf Club took home first place in the Professional Division shooting an even par, 70, on the day. Chris Young, PGA (Thompson CC) took second place at +1 while Rick Durocher, PGA (Cyprian Keyes GC) and John O’Connor, PGA (Far Corner Golf) shared third place at +2.
In team play, Chris Young, PGA led his team from Thompson CC to the first-place spot, finishing with an 11-under, 129. Cam Lynch, Mike Murphy, and Josh Gianotsos joined Young on the course today. As a team they posted three eagles and one birdie on the front nine and two eagles and three birdies on the back nine.
The team from Marlborough Country Club, led by Greg Farland, PGA came in second place overall with a 9-under, 131. Wayne Kent, Dan Jenkins, and Steve Weissman joined his team. They shot three-under on the front nine with three birdies and went on to post five birdies and one eagle on the back nine.
Dan Gillis, PGA, led his team from Nabnasset Lake CC to a third place finish. Travis Kellegrew, Jack Ryan and Joe Van Gelder helped the team to a six-under, 134. They shot three birdies on holes five, six, and eight, and added an eagle on 10 and three more birdies on the back nine for the third place spot.
