POCASSET, Mass- The Cape Cod Chapter kicked off it’s 2022 Pro-Am season this Thursday at Pocasset Golf Club. For the second year in a row, PGA Professional Brad Sherman the 15th Golf Club team took home the title, this time by shooting a 14-under 130.
Sherman was joined in his title defense with the same amateur partners as last season; Peter Hartmann, Justin Bissett, and Chris Kirrane. The team went out in 3-under 69 while battling though the cold and windy conditions. Their card on the back featured many circles as they recorded two eagles, six birdies and only a single par. Amateur Peter Hartmann recorded the low round of the day, firing a 3-under 69 on his own ball.
The top three teams were rounded out by LeBaron Hill Country Club (11-under) and Cohasset Golf Club (10-under) who were represented by PGA Professionals Tom Rooney and Zach Mahan.
In the Individual Professional competition there was a tie at the top of the leaderboard between Tom Rooney (LeBaron Hills CC) and Tom Tobey (Sandwich Hollows GC). Both shot even-par 72. Zach Mahan (Cohasset GC) finished third place at 1-over 73, and Brad Sherman and Ben Egan (The Bay Club) finished in a tie for fourth place at 2-over 74.
Thank you to Pocasset’s Head Golf Professional, Jeff Halunen, PGA and Golf Course Superintendent Jon Burke for hosting the Cape Cod Chapter! The Cape Cod Chapter will be back in action this coming Tuesday when they visit the Cape Club for the second Pro-Am of the season!
