A warm, foggy morning greeted the 30 teams that came to Cochecho CC for the NHC/NEPGA Pro Am on Monday, September 28th. As the fog lifted, the green fairways brightened, and the sun started to peak through for the 120 players.

The pro Division Rico Riciputi made 6 birdies on his way to shooting a 2 under par 68. Matt Arvanitis has 4 birdies on his cart and also shot a 68 to tie Rico for first place.  Jay Pollini continued his stellar play this season by shooting a 1 under par 69 to take third place and tie with Dan Gillis at that 69 mark. Dan Wilkens and Jason Malcolm scored even par 79’s to tie for forth place.

In the gross division The team from the Oaks GC led by PGA Professional Patrick Thornell came in with an 8 under par 62. His teammates were Dan Noonan, Harvin Groft, and George Bell.  The teams from Nabnasset Lake with Pro Dan Gillis and the team from SNHU with Pro Matt Arvanitis came in tied for second place with a pair of 63’s.  Not far behind them was the team from Pembroke Pines headed by PGA Professional Ben Stone with a 6 under par 64.

The net division saw the team from Whip Poor Whil shot a 56 net to take the top spot. Led by PGA Professional Jim Gunnare with teammates Michael Jonis, Paul Grigas, and Tony Fornier. They also tied for 1st gross with a 62. teams tie for 1st place. The teams from Keene CC shot 58, one with Barry Pearson as their pro and the other with Eric Sandstrum as their leader. They shared that second spot with the team from Hidden Creek with pro Eric Soderman.

Portsmouth CC host the Pro Pro Championship next Tuesday. After that the season has two more events at Abenaqui and Laconia.
