The first NHC/NEPGA Championship event was held on Monday July 13th at Pease GC. It was the Senior Championship with 28 teams equaling 112 players on the hot muggy day. The play was delayed for 90 minutes with heavy rains and lightning making its’ way over the golf course. The course took it well and the players were able to get back out to finish their rounds.

Danny Kish of Atkinson CC and Dan Wilkens of Laconia CC led the pro division with a 4 under par 67. Danny had 6 birdies and 2 bogies for his 67 and Dan had 5 birdies and only 1 bogie to shot his score. Dan has been hot lately as he also tied for first at Beaver Meadow in the last event and is on the top of the NHC Player of the Year points. Jay Pollini of Ridgewood CC continued his strong play with a 2 under par 69 to take third place. Jason Malcolm of Nashua CC came in at a 1 under 70 to take the fourth spot. Barry Peason of Keene CC and Christopher Mowers of Nippo Lake shot even par 71’s to tie for 5th.

In the team contest it was the team of Steve Poremba from Derryfield to take the gross division with a 11 under par 60. His teammates were Dan Arvanitis, Chris Stamoulis, and Sean Lacey. Dan Wilkens team from Laconia CC came in second with a 9 under par 62. His teammates were Randy Pike, Steve Wainwright, Mike Handrahan. There were three teams that came in at 8 under to tie for third.

In the net division the teams headed by Matt Thibeault of Intervale GC, Chris Mowers of Nippo Lake CC, Alex Kirk of Hanover CC, Barry Pearson of Keene CC and Matt Buechner of Nashua CC all came in at 12 under par 59 to tie for the top spot.

After a week off Derryfield CC host a pro pro contest on July 27th.
