Salem, Mass. – A field of 104 players competed in the 2026 New England PGA Pro-Lady Invitational at Kernwood Country Club on Thursday, July 16. Battling warm summer conditions, teams competed in an 18-hole Stroke Play, Better Ball–Alternate Shot format with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
In the Team Gross Division, the Weston Golf Club team of Malcolm Oliver, PGA and Elise Bain captured the title with a 3-over-par 73. Oliver and Bain finished one stroke ahead of the Cyprian Keyes Golf Club duo of Greg Farland, PGA and Grace Farland, who posted a 4-over-par 74.
Four teams tied for third place at 5-over-par 75, including the Wollaston Golf Club team of Liam Friedman, PGA and Caroline Edwards, the Franklin Country Club duo of Anthony Maki, PGA and Chrissy Holmes, the Rochester Country Club team of Brett Smestad, PGA and Joan Cyr, and the Pease Golf Course pairing of Timothy Riese, PGA and Christina Foote.
In the Team Net Division, Anthony Maki, PGA and Chrissy Holmes of Franklin Country Club earned first place with an impressive 6-under-par 66.
Finishing one stroke back in second place at 5-under-par 67 was the Pease Golf Course team of Timothy Riese, PGA and Christina Foote.
Four teams shared third place honors at 4-under-par 68: the Wollaston Golf Club duo of Liam Friedman, PGA and Caroline Edwards, the Derryfield Country Club team of Cory Mansfield, PGA and Jennifer Mansfield, the Worcester Country Club pairing of Robert Bruso, PGA and Stephanie Bruso, and the Keene Country Club team of Eric Sandstrum, PGA and Julie Tewksbury.
The Team Skins Game was won by the Agawam Hunt team of Louis Rivers, PGA and Deb Schmutzler, who recorded two skins on the day. Six teams tied for second with one skin each: Anthony Maki, PGA and Chrissy Holmes (Franklin Country Club), Brett Smestad, PGA and Joan Cyr (Rochester Country Club), Joe Merlin, PGA and Deirdre Clark (Myopia Hunt Club), Justin Lawson, PGA and Courtney Lemoine (The Country Club at Brookline), Dan Van Heest, PGA and Alex Clark (Needham Golf Club), and Danny Kish, PGA and Allison Kish (Indoor Golf Club).
