Mattapoisett, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted the 2025 NEPGA Acushnet Golf Pro-Assistant Championship on a beautiful early June day at The Bay Club in Mattapoisett. 175 players, including a total of 112 teams, came out to compete in the 1BB of 2 Gross event.

The duo of the Bay Club’s Greg Yeomans, PGA and Greg Kelly, PGA achieved first place overall, shooting 7-under, 64 on the day, beating out their competition by three strokes.

Yeomans and Kelly teed off from the 1st hole and went on a run with four birdies in a row on holes 6,7, 8, and 9, closing out their front nine. They tallied three straight birdies on holes 14,15, and 16, ending off with a bogey-free 64.

Notable moments during their round consisted of a 40 foot putt on 9 by Yeomans to seal the birdie, a fairway putt made on 14, a solo 3 from Kelly on 15, and difficult downhill putts on holes 8 and 16 that found their way in the hole for the team.

Five teams tied for second place overall, three strokes over the leaders, at 4-under, 67. The Bay Club team of Yeomans and his partner Joseph Delorey, the duo of Jeff Martin, PGA and Liam Friedman, PGA, the Kernwood CC team of Frank Dully, PGA and Steve Bramlett, PGA, Golf Academy of New England’s Ryan Riley and Nolan Donze, and the New Seabury team of Andrew Stolze, PGA and Frank Leja.

Martin and Friedman finished the day with five birdies on their scorecard. Jenkins and Fantasia also put up five birdies, spread out throughout their eighteen holes today. Yeomans and Delorey closed the day with six total birdies on their card. Riley and Donze put up four birdies on the front nine, and Stolze and Leja made an early eagle on hole 6.
