Matt Arvanitis of SNHU and his teammates, Dan Arvanitis, Lance Pelley and Sean Lacey claimed the 2024 NH Chapter Pro Senior Championship this week with a 2 Best Ball of 4 Gross score of 12 under par 130 at Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth. The winning team went off in the first group of the day and posted the score which held up all day as the weather turned a bit wet for the afternoon players. Bill Andrews and his team of Craig Steckowych, Bill Leonard and Mike Waterman from Portsmouth CC were 1 shot back at 11 under followed by the Hoodkroft squad led by Eric Soderman along with Joe Raboin, Paul Ralston and Trini Iturralde.

Kristy Gleason, Kingswood Head Professional, Made Her Season Debut at Pease This Week

Five teams tied for first place net at 11 under par 131. They were captained by Ben Stone, Derryfield CC, Danny Kish, The Indoor Golf Club, Dan Wilkins, Laconia CC, Josh Lacasse, Beaver Meadow, and Joe Finemore, Portsmouth CC.

Finemore also fired a 5 under par 66 to win the Individual Professional competition. He will be one of the favorites to watch in next week’s Chapter Championship where he was runner up last year. Josh Lacasse continued his fine play, making 2 eagles on his way to a 3 under par 68 to finish 2nd. Bill Andrews took over the top spot in the Davis and Towle NHPGA Player of the Year Points Race with his 2 under par 69, finishing 3rd. Matt Arvanitis (70) and Brett Smestad (71) rounded out the top 5,

Next week we’ll head to beautiful North Conway CC for the annual NHPGA Chapter Championship. Players will compete in this multi day event which begins with the Pro – Member on Sunday, the popular shootout on Monday afternoon and the Championship and Senior Championship being contested on Monday and Tuesday.
