SALEM, Mass. – Danny Kish, PGA , and partner Allison Wilkins led the Atkinson Resort duo to a round of 1-over par 71 at Kernwood Country Club on Thursday to win the New England PGA Pro-Lady Invitational.
Kish and Wilkins carded 14 pars and added birdies on the 7th and 17th holes in the select drive – alternate shot format. A two-hole hiccup on 14 and 15 set the pair back three strokes, but the 1-over par performance was good enough eclipse Nabnasset Lake CC and Nashua CC by two strokes.
The Nabnasset Lake CC pair of Dan Gillis, PGA and Anne Windhol grinded out a 3-over par 73 despite seven bogeys on the day. In fact, the pair carded just two pars on the back-9 to go with five bogeys and two birdies. The two played the front nine in even-par with two bogeys and two birdies.
Jason Malcolm, PGA (Nashua CC) and partner Tracy Martin also played the front-9 in even par and went 3-over on the back to tie for second at 73.
A total of 38 teams competed at Kernwood CC in the tournament. The New England PGA would like to extend a special thank you to Kernwood CC and host professional Frank Dully, PGA, as well as partner Nivo/Sligo for supporting this event.
