FALL RIVER, Mass. – The New England PGA hosted the third Stroke Play Series event of the 2022 season on Tuesday, July, 5th at Fall River Country Club. A trio of 67s, fired by Eric Barlow, PGA (Winchester CC), Rich Berberian Jr., PGA (Vesper CC) and Shawn Warren, PGA (Falmouth CC – ME) took the title of the event.

With two bridies and one bogey through the front nine, Barlow made the turn at a 1-under, 34. He added four birdies on hole 10, 11, 13 and 15 on his way to claim the solo title before two bogies put him at 3-under for a share of first place.

Berberian finished the front nine at 2-under. He added three birdies, including a promising two on holes 14 and 15. Bogies on the final two holes evened him with Barlow at 3-under, 67 overall.

Warren posted an early two birdies on the front nine to make the turn at 1-under, 34. He birdied the 11th hole and snatched a share of the top spot with a final birdie on 17 for a final 3-under score of 67.

Rounding out the top four was Liam Friedman, PGA (Wollaston GC) and Dan Gillis, PGA (Nabnasset Lake CC) who shot 1-under 69’s to claim a share of fourth place.

Friedman traded a bogey and birdie on the opening two holes of the day. He made the turn at +1 before posting three birdies on the back nine to finish 1-under, 69. Gillis was even through the front nine and added two birdies and one bogey on the back nine to finish 1-under.

Five professionals tied for sixth place, shooting even par 70’s on the day: Jeff Martin, PGA (Wollaston CC), Arthur Wilson, PGA (Golf Galaxy), Nick Jagoe, PGA (Wanumetonomy CC), Dan Venezio, PGA (Portland CC), and George Rauh IV, PGA (The Country Club). This was Rauh’s fist NEPGA tournament.
