CONCORD, N.H. – The New England PGA hosted the fourth Stroke Play Series event of the season on Tuesday, August 27th at Concord Country Club in Concord, N.H. 76 NEPGA Professionals came out to compete in the 18-hole individual stroke play event. The morning saw dense fog across the fairways and tee times were delayed by one hour and ten minutes.

Eric Barlow, PGA (Winchester CC), Ed Kirby, PGA (The Aquidneck Club), Eric Higgins, PGA (Webhannet GC), and Shawn Warren, PGA (Old Marsh CC) all shot the low rounds of the day, finishing at 4-under, 66, in a three-way tie for first place.

After making the turn at 1-over, Barlow put up five birdies through the final nine holes to jump to 4-under overall. He posted back-to-back birdies on holes 9 and 10 and finished the round with birdies on 15, 16, and 17 to claim his spot at the top of the leaderboard.

Kirby started the round strong with a birdie on the par-4 first hole. He made the turn at even-par and went on to post four birdies on the back nine, including a final two on holes 17 and 18 to claim a share of first place.

Higgins also made the turn at even-par, after trading a bogey on one for a birdie on the par-4 5th hole. He moved to 2-under with birdies on the par-4 10th  and 14th holes. Similar to Kirby, final birdies on 17 and 18 lifted him to the top of the leaderboard.

Warren carded three birdies and four bogeys through the opening nine holes to make the turn at 1-under. Birdies on 12 and 14 moved him to 3-under before a bogey on the par-4 15th hole put him at 2-under with 3 holes to play. Warren clinched a share of first place in the same fashion as Kirby and Higgins, with final birdies on the par-5 17th hole and par-4 18th hole.

Rich Berberian Jr. PGA (Vesper Country Club) took home 5th place at 3-under, 67 and Kirk Hanefeld, PGA (LM) followed him in 6th place, shooting 2-under, 68, on the day.
