MARTHA’S VINEYARD, MA — The third annual Vineyard Pro-Pro proved once again to be a highlight of the fall calendar, providing a fantastic fall opportunity for NEPGA Professionals to gather on Martha’s Vineyard for two days of competition and camaraderie. While the first two editions of the event were contested at Edgartown Golf Club and Vineyard Golf Club, this year marked the tournament’s inaugural trip to Farm Neck Golf Club.
When the final putts dropped, the tandem of Kolten Bauer (Sankaty Head Golf Club) and Kevin Maynard (Boston Golf Club) claimed the top honors. Bauer and Maynard put on a clinic over 36 holes, firing a blistering 11-under par 131 to secure a tight one-stroke victory. The duo set the tone in round one with an explosive 7-under 63 at Edgartown GC, second only to the 8-under 62 shot by Bob Tramonti (Triggs Memorial Golf Course) and Ed Kirby (The Aquidneck Club). Bauer and Maynard then tied for the low round at Farm Neck GC with a 4-under 68 in extremely windy conditions to seal the victory.
Two teams finished just one shot back in a tie for second place at 10-under par 132. The pairing of Ron Coiro (Tedesco Country Club) and Brendon Ray (Point Judith Country Club) paired an opening 64 with a final-round 68, matching the 132 total posted by Robert Tramonti (Triggs Memorial Golf Course) and Ed Kirby (The Aquidneck Club).
Jimmy Tirone (The Kittansett Club) and Eri Seguin (Vineyard Golf Club) took solo fourth place at 8-under par 134. Rounding out the top five in a tie for fifth place at 6-under par 136 were Matt Zdon (Belmont CC) and Frank Dully (Kernwood CC), alongside the Sankaty Head GC duo of Peter Malia and Max Zahka.
