FOXBOROUGH, Mass.- The Massachusetts Chapter was back in action this Wednesday with the Foxborough Country Club Pro-Am, presented by Five Star Golf Cars.  It was a tightly contested tournament, with the teams lead by PGA Professionals Patrick Beahn and Todd Cook coming out on top with scores of 9-under par 135.

COMPLETE RESULTS

The Blackstone National GC team led by Beahn played consistent golf throughout their round.  They made three eagles and five birdies compared to only two bogeys on the day.  The team took advantage of their opportunities on par-5’s playing them in 3-under par on the day.

Cook, along with his teammates from the Milton Hoosic Club, made four eagles and five birdies to shoot 9-under par.  Milton Hoosic saved their best golf for the back nine. After making back-to-back eagles on the 10th and 11th holes, they then followed that up with their best stretch of the day going 5-under par in their last five holes.

Cook’s stellar play also earned him the title in the Individual Professional competition where he shot a 1-under 71.  Cook started his round slowly shooting a 3-over 39 on the front, but in similar fashion to his team he caught fire in the last nine holes.  Cook made birdie on the 11th and 16th holes, he then finished his round in style making an eagle on the 502 yard 18th hole.

Chris Young (Thomson CC) finished in solo second carding a 1-over 73, rounding out the top three was host Professional Lou Rivers who shot a 2-over 74.

Thank you to Foxborough Country Club’s Head Professional Lou Rivers, Superintendent Michael Poch, and Clubhouse Manager Tracey Goulet.  The Massachusetts Chapter would also like to recognize its partner, Five Star Golf Cars, which put on a closest to the pin competition for the field on the 6th hole. Thank you to Owner Larry Kelley and Sales Representative Andrew Ingham for supporting our events.
