WATERBURY, Vt. – The team of David Bennett and Aidan Melville teamed up at their home course of CC of Vermont to win the 2022 VT Pro-Pro Championship in convincing fashion with a score of 11-under 61.
The Championship was hosted by Country Club of Vermont and held in conjunction with the Chapter’s Fall Meeting. Each year the tournament serves as an opportunity for Vermont’s PGA Professionals to celebrate their camaraderie as the season ends.
Bennett and Melville proved to be a formidable duo in the Fourball Stroke Play competition. The pair carded a total of 11 birdies and no bogeys on their way to securing a 6-shot victory.
Finishing in second place was the team of David Jankowski (Golf Garage VT) and Jason Sherman (CC of Vermont) who finished at 5-under 67. Jankowski and Sherman capitalized on CC of Vermont’s par 5’s making eagles on the 3rd and 12th holes.
Finishing in third place was PGA Life Member Dave Christy and Brattleboro CC’s Mike Zaranek who finished at 3-under 69.
During the Fall Meeting, the Chapter honored its 2022 Award winners highlighted by its Golf Professional of the Year Johnny Cleanthes, PGA of Haystack Golf Course. A complete list of winners can be found below.
