BRANDON, Vt. – It was a historic day at the Vermont Chapter Pro-Am on Monday. David Bennett (CC of Vermont) shot a 10-under 62 to set the course record at Neshobe Golf Club on his way to winning the Individual Professional competition. Bennett broke the previous course record of 64 which was held by Peter Breen for over 15 years. To add to the excitement, Mandy Milne made her first career hole-in-one on the par-3 12th hole as she returned home to the course owned by her family.
Bennett started his dominant round with a birdies on the 1st and 5th holes, he then made an eagle on the 8th hole to go out in 4-under 33. From there his round began to pick up steam as he strung together four birdies in his first five holes on the back nine. After making par on holes 15 and 16, he finished his round with back-to-back birdies to shoot 6-under 29 to complete his historic day.
David Jankowski (Burlington CC) also had a fantastic finish in the Individual Pro competition, he shot a 4-under 68 to finish in second place.
The Team Competition was won by Derryfield Country Club led by PGA Professional Cory Mansfield. Mansfield along with his partners Scott Kenniston, Nick Matulonis, and TJ Matulonis lead the field with a 17-under 127 in the 2 BB of 4 (Gross + Net) competition. In a tie for second place were the teams from CC of Vermont and Kwiniaska Golf Club, led by PGA Professionals David Bennett and John Paul.
