BOYLSTON, Mass. — Mike Bradshaw, PGA, has long been a respected member of the New England PGA and the Rhode Island Chapter for his reputation as a Professional and a leader. Bradshaw is currently serving as the COO and Director of Golf at Kirkbrae Country Club, a position that he has held since 2020. Prior to that he was the Club’s Head Professional from 2006-2020, and previous to that he spent six seasons as the First Assistant at Kirkbrae CC under NEPGA Hall of Fame member, Stan Baluik. For his efforts, Bradshaw has been awarded the 2024 Rhode Island Chapter Golf Professional of the Year.

Bradshaw has repeatedly raised his hand to serve and has held almost every position possible in the Chapter and Section over the last ten years.

He began his service on the Rhode Island Chapter’s Board in 2012 as the Tournament Chairman. From there he moved on to become the  Education Chairman and Secretary of the Chapter during the 2013-2015 seasons.

At the Section level, he served on the NEPGA Board as the District Director from Rhode Island from November 2015 through October 2017. In addition, he served as the co-chair of the Section’s Education committee from November 2015-November 2021, and will serve in that capacity from November 2023- November 2025. In October 2017, he was elected Secretary of the New England Section and served in that position through October 2019, continuing on as Vice-President (October 2019-November 2021) and President of the Section from November 2021-November 2023. He is currently completing his final two years of service on the Executive Committee, in the position of Honorary President. He is also the co-chair of the Section Awards and Education Committees.

At the National level, Mike was appointed to the National Education Committee in November of 2020 and then asked to serve as Co-Chair of the same committee in November of 2022, a position that he will serve in through March of 2025. He has also been a member of the PGA Junior League Rules Committee since July of 2018 and a member of the PGA of America Rules Committee since January of 2020.

Bradshaw has found it extremely inspiring to serve in a leadership capacity over the past decade-plus. To be able to help fellow PGA Professionals increase their value as Golf Professionals has been a humbling and tremendously rewarding experience. Showcasing the PGA Professional as the “rock star” of the golf operation at any facility type has been one of his goals as a Section and Chapter leader, and  this continues to drive his passion to serve.

Throughout his many meetings as a Chapter and Section officer, Bradshaw has stressed the concept of “leave the Association better than you found it”, a goal of his that he has certainly accomplished.

Bradshaw is one of five individuals to earn recognition for their service and dedication to their profession as the Rhode Island Chapter announced its full slate of 2024 award winners. The Chapter looks forward to celebrating these recipients at the Section Awards Banquet and throughout the 2024 season.
