ATKINSON, N.H. – The Brattleboro Country Club team of Michael Zaranek, PGA and Dave Evans carded the low round of the day in the team gross division, with an impressive eight-under, 64 to claim the 2022 NEPGA Pro-Superintendent Invitational title on Monday, October 17 at Atkinson Resort & CC.
The duo started the day on the 14th hole and carded four birdies and one bogey through the opening nine holes to sit at three-under halfway through the round. Birdies on the par-4 fifth hole and par-5 sixth hole moved them to five-under. They finished the day with three birdies in a row on holes 11, 12, and 13 to finish eight-under overall.
The Cochecho Country Club team of Lucas Langelier, PGA and Declan Daubney claimed solo second place in the team gross division, carding a six-under, 66, The team started the round with a birdie on the par-4 13th hole. They carded birdies on 17, 1, and 2 and bogeyed 16 and 3 to finish the first nine holes at two-under. They birdied five on the final nine holes to claim the final gross score of six-under, 66.
The Oakley Country Club team of Scott Johnson, PGA and Pat Lange tied with the Trull Brook Golf Club duo of Allen Santos, PGA and Jeremy Cox for third place, carding five-under, 67s.
Johnson and Lange started the day with a birdie on the par-4 10th hole. Two more birdies on holes 16 and 18 put them at three-under at the turn. The duo moved to four under with a birdie on the par-5 second hole, and one more bride on six gave them the final five-under, 67.
Santos and Cox started the day on the nineth hole and eagled the par-4 10th hole for a hot start. They went on to birdie holes 11, 14 and 16 before a bogey on 17 put them at four-under through nine. One more birdie on the par-3 third hole gave the team the final five-under, 67 for a share of third place.
