Manchester, VT – It was another spectacular Vermont summer day for the 2025 Vermont Chapter Pro-Junior at Manchester Country Club. MCC has had a busy summer hosting the Vermont Amateur and several other large events and qualifiers, and it continued yesterday as teams of professionals and their talented juniors descended on Manchester for the Pro Junior.
In one of the few scrambles in the Vermont Chapter puts on every year, the players made their way out to the course to battle some slippery greens and thick rough. All 36 teams competed for just six engraved Ping stand bags.
The scores at the top of the leaderboard could not have been tighter. In a six way tie for second at 5-under, the teams of Manchester Country Club’s Bretty Lloyd and his junior Luke Kramer, as well as The Quechee Club’s Curt Goldsberry and his junior Thomas Thorburn who won scorecard playoffs to take 5th and 6th places.
In a four way tie at the top with fantastic rounds of 6-under the following teams took home the bags brought by our sponsor Ping:
David Jankowski (Golf Garage) and Nick Norris
David Jankowski (Golf Garage) and Mattie Serafin
John Paul (Kwiniaska Golf Club) and Griffin Luck
Kevin Bennison (Burlington Country Club) and Jack Henry
Congratulations to all the teams for competing, the levels of play were extremely high. A testament to the quality of junior golf across the Green Mountains.
On the individual professional side, Burlington Country Club’s Kevin Bennison kept up his good play in a three way tie at the top with Mt. Anthony’s Ryan Howard and Williston’ Michael Amendola. The three professionals all carded solid 2-under 70 scores to share top spot. Golf Garage’s David Jankowski slipped into the top four with an even par 72, while Curt Goldsberry rounded out the top five with a 2-over 74.
Events like these would not be possible with the support from host clubs. Everyone at Manchester Country Club was fantastic in getting the event running smoothly. In addition, our sponsors always play a huge role in keeping the game alive and we thank Ping for the awesome bags our winners got to take home.
Next up, the Vermont Chapter heads to the Country Club of Barre where professionals and their senior members will take on the Vermont Chapter Pro-Senior on August 18th.
