SANDWICH, Mass- The Cape Cod Chapter held its second Pro-Am of the season at The Ridge Club on Wednesday, marking the first time Chapter had visited the course since its victory in the 2021 Cape Cod Cup.
The morning came with dark skies and threatening weather, with pockets of heavy rain before clearing up in the afternoon. The course held up well against the rain, a testament to the great early season conditions provided by superintendent and friend of the Chapter, Parish Pina.
Cape Cod National Golf Club, led by PGA of America Professional Gregg Richbourg, lapped the field shooting a round of 7-under 135 to win by four shots. Richbourg was joined by Ray Darcy, Tim Painter, and Bill Stone and together they combined for seven birdies and an eagle against only two bogeys.
Agawam Hunt and Lou Rivers, PGA finished in second place with a score of 3-under 139. In a three-way tie for third place were the teams from Ocean Edge GC, The Cape Club, and 15th Golf Club.
James Cook, PGA shot the low round of the day finishing at even-par 71 edging out host professional Matt Baran, PGA and Brad Sherman, PGA who each finished at 1-over par. Cook made four birdies on the day, tied for the tournament high, including a birdie on 18 to secure the victory. In a tie for fourth place were Bobby Williams, Zach Mahan, and Gregg Richbourg.
Thank you to The Ridge Club’s Head Golf Professional, Matt Baran, for hosting the Cape Cod Chapter!
