Program Highlight
Darren has been involved with the Birdies 2 Benefit for 5 years.
What is the most rewarding thing about giving back to the community?
When you get involved, you get outside your own bubble and see how many people are impacted. Hearing the stories about what families are going through both emotionally, and financially. Boston Children’s Hospital holds a special place as my owner’s nephew has been a patient there his entire life. The resources they have provided the family have been beyond overwhelming, and we cannot thank them enough for the impact they make in people’s lives.
What other organizations do you support?
We host an event for Veterans every year and I conducted a golf clinic for Veteran’s as well.
How has giving back to the community helped to raise awareness of your facility?
We set high expectations every year in our fundraising drive for Birdies 2 Benefit. Once we started talking it up, we learned how many of our customers have been affected and/or impacted by many of the groups the NEPGA Foundation supports.
How do you determine which charities to support?
Kids certainly hold a close place to our heart so anything that benefits them. And I don’t think there is every enough we can do for our Veteran’s and the sacrifices they have made for us.
Any recommendations on how someone can start to support their community?
It doesn’t have to be on a big level. There are so many worthy causes out there and support you can give to them will be appreciated.
