QUINCY, Mass. –
 Jim Clay (New Seabury on Cape Cod) cards 2-under 69, with four birdies to win Stroke Play Series event held Tuesday (Sept. 7) at Granite Links GC.

Clay kept his card clean with birdies on holes 3 and 6 to finish the front nine with a 2-under, 33. After making his first bogey of the day on the par-3 hole 11, he followed that with par, birdie, birdie to get to three-under on the day. Clay finished the day one-over on his last four holes to end up with an even par 36 on the back to win the Stroke Play Series event with a 69.

Jeff Martin began the round 2-over through the first four holes, with a birdie on hole 7 to make the turn at one-over, 36. On the back Martin fired off three birdies on holes 11, 13 and 14, with one final bogey on 15 to finish with a 2-under, 34 for his one-under, 70.

Eric Barlow started the day steady with seven straight pars before making two straight bogeys on holes 8 and 9 to finish the side 2-over, 37. After a tough double-bogey hole 12, Barlow made five birdies, including four straight on holes 13, 14, 15 and 16 to finish the side with a 33, and total 70.

Four professionals finished the day at even par, 71 to share fourth place: Jason Sedan (Lake Winnipesaukee GC), Rich Berberian (Vesper CC), Shawn Warren (Falmouth CC) and Robert Bruso (Blackstone National GC).

Dan Gillis’s (Nabnasset Lake CC) round of two-over, 73 was good to win the Senior Division at the Stroke Play Series event. He beat out Todd Scarafoni (Bass Rocks GC) and Rick Karbowski (Auburn Driving Range) who finished at three-over in the Senior Division.
