A cool sunny day greeted all the golfers that came to play in the NHC/NEPGA Pro am at Concord Country Club on May 22. With 40 teams participating (160 players) this is the largest field in years for the NHC pro am series. We are very lucky Davis and Towle Insurance and Central Insurance Agency are partners with the NHC for today’s event and that makes it very special. We thank them for their generous support. We also thank Head PGA Professional at Concord and their members for allowing us to have this many teams. Brian just kept saying yes when I asked him for another tee time. Todays team format is 1 BB Gross or 1 BB Net.
Today’s pro contest saw some good golf played. Jay Pollini of Ridgewood shot a 3 under par 67 to take the top spot. He made 3 birdies and an eagle, offset by to bogies to finish with that 3 under par score. Todd Rollins of Laconia shot a 2 under 68 to end up 2nd. Todd shot 30 on the front with 3 birdies and a hole out eagle offset by 1 bogie. Mitch Jefferson of Rochester came in at 1 under 69 good enough for 3rd place. Mitch had 4 birdies and 3 bogies in his round. Chris Houston of Laconia and Jon Ellis of The Oaks shot even par 70’s to tie for 4th place. Brett Smestad of Rochester and Tom Smith or Atkinson came in with 1 over 71’s to tie for 6th place. Three players tied with 3 over par 73’s to tie for 8th place. Matt Arvanitis of SNHU, Matt Delois of About Golf, and Dan Kish of The Indoor Golf Club shot the 73’s to round out the top ten.
The team Gross Division had three teams shoot 7 under to tie for 1st place. The teams were: Mitch Jefferson of Rochester with the team of Josh Parker, Jim Cilley, and Thomas Hickey, Jay Pollini of Ridgewood with teammates Tim Melanson, Josh Johnson, and Conner Powers, and Ben Stone and his players Dave Stickney, Joe Bowker, and Will McLaughlin. Nice playing.
The team Net Division two teams tie for the top spot by shooting 11 under par. Those teams were the team from Derryfield led by Cory Mansfield with team Scott Kenniston, Pete Franggos, and Demetri Stamoulis. The other team was from Laconia led by Todd Rollins and his team of Evan Rollins, Jim Moodie, and Tim Callahan.
Thank you again to Concord Country Club, Davis & Towle Insurance, Central Insurance Company, PGA Professional Brian Moskevich, and all the players today for making it a great day. The weather was great, the course in great condition, and some great golf was played. Next week the circuit takes Memorial day week off, then onto Canterbury Woods Golf Club on June 5th, followed by Stonebridge CC on June 12th.
