The NHC/NEPGA Pro am series made its weekly stop at Concord CC on Monday, May 16th. The weather forecast called for rain and possible thunderstorms, a quick one came and went, a delay of 15 minutes, and play resumed. The 36 teams (144 players) were all able to complete their rounds long before the sun set.
The Professional contest saw Sam Cody of Stonebridge shoot an impressive 65 to take top honors. He had 5 birdies, and eagle, and 2 bogies. There was a three way tie for 2nd, Brett Smestad of Rochester, Cory Yudkin of Cleveland Golf, and Todd Rollins of Laconia all came in with 1 under 69’s share 2nd place. Mitch Jefferson of Rochester shot a 1 over 71 to come in 5th by himself. Shooting 2 over 72’s were Chris Mowers of Nippo Lake, Dan Wilkins of Laconia, and Bob McGraw of Eagle Mountain to tie for 6th place. Mark Larrabee of Eastman shot a 73 to come in 9th, and at 74 and a three way tie for 10th were Cory Mansfield of Derryfield, Brian Moskovich of Concord, and Matt Delois of About Golf.
Todays team event was 1 BB Gross or 1 BB Net. In the gross division Cody led his team from Stonebridge to a 7 under 63 to take first place. His teammates were Dave Hildenbrand, Chase Martell, and Chris Hadley. There was a three way tie for 2nd place with the teams of Laconia/Rollins, Ridgewood/Pollini, and Eagle Mountain/McGraw all coming in with 5 under 65’s.
In the net contest the home team from Laconia CC led by PGA Professional Dan Wilkins came in at 13 under par 57 to take first place. His team consisted of Steve Wainwright, Mike Handrahan, and Randy Pike. Concord CC led by PGA Professional Brian Moskevich came in with a 12 under 58 to take the second spot. His team consisted of Mark Douglas, Dave Ousterhout, and Mike Ruedig. The other team from Concord led by Emery Chickering shot a 59 to take 3rd place.
