Brandon, VT – The Vermont Chapter rolled into Neshobe Golf Club this week for another packed Pro-Am, and it’s safe to say the course was at its absolute best. With blue skies, sunshine, and temperatures sitting comfortably in the mid-70s, it was one of those days you hope for every time you tee it up.

Fresh off hosting the 96th New England Amateur, Neshobe Golf Club looked and played the part of a championship venue. The greens were firm, fast, and pure and the course was in fantastic shape from tee to green. One thing was sure, Neshobe is a fan favorite among the chapter and across New England.

It was The Quechee Club, led by Curt Goldsberry, who came out swinging, posting a stellar 14-under par to take home the team title. Jim LeClair’s Golf Garage made a strong run of their own at 11-under, just three shots behind and in solo second place. New Hampshire’s Montcalm Golf Club continued their success here in the Vermont chapter, tying for third place with Kwiniaska Golf Club at 10-under par.

On the individual professional side, Curt Goldsberry led the way with a sharp 3-under, 69 to claim low pro honors. One shot behind was Williston Golf Club’s Michael Amendola with a strong 70 and Dan Lehmann rounded out the top three with a 1-under par 71.

Congratulations to Andrew Kimbell, Curt Goldsberry, Zach Temple, and Bill Dwyer for winning the four closest to the pin competitions held throughout the golf course today!

A huge thank you to everyone at Neshobe Golf Club. Their hard work in preparing their course for a big summer hosting the New England Amateur paid off, and the Vermont Chapter benefitted from the condition the course is in right now. A special thank you to John and Mandy Milne for their hard work in preparing the event for us as well as Cody Larson, Head Superintendent for his efforts.

Lastly, big thank you to Casella Waste Management for sponsoring yesterday’s event, we were so lucky to have them on hand to enjoy the course!

Next up, the Vermont Chapter heads north to the Vermont National Country Club Pro-Am on August 4th.
