Steve Poremba and his Derryfield CC team successfully defended their NHPGA Pro Senior Championship at Canterbury Woods on Monday. Poremba and his partners, Danny Arvanitis, Lance Pelley and Carl Lang fired a 2 Best Ball Gross score of 13 under par, 131 to secure the victory. Matt Thibeault’s Intervale team was second at 136, while Bob McGraw and his Eagle Mountain House group finished third at 139. The Pro Senior Championship pairs New Hampshire PGA Professionals with 3 amateurs from their club who are at least 50 years of age.

McGraw with a stellar 4 under par round of 68, highlighted by 7 birdies, was the Low Professional of the day. Jay Pollini (The Oaks), who widened his lead in the Davis and Towle Insurance Player of the Year race, finished just one shot back at 69. Ricky Gray (Sky Meadow) was third at 72 followed by Cory Mansfield (Derryfield) and Vince Molesky (Apple Hill) at 73.

On the 2 Best Balls of 4 Net side, Mansfield teamed up with fellow Derryfield Members, Scott Kenniston, Pete Franggos and Scott Linehan to finish tied at the top with The Profile Club’s Ryan Peffer and his partners Austin Smith, Dave Chandonnet and Fred Apple at 15 under par, 129. Apple came in with the round of the day, a 5 under par, 67 and a 31 on the back 9. Pollini’s Oaks squad and Brian Moskevich’s Concord CC team tied for third  at 132.

Thanks to Walter Reeves, PGA Head Professional, Steve Glines, Superintendent and all of the staff at Canterbury Woods for hosting our 2026 Pro Senior Championship on a gorgeous day in New Hampshire. The golf course was fantastic and the hospitality was warm and welcoming.

After a week off, the Chapter will be at Pease for the final tune up before our much anticipated annual NHPGA Championship at the North Conway Country Club. The field is looking to be one of the largest in years, and reigning Champion Lucas Langelier of Cochecho CC will be defending his 2025 win.
