YORK, Maine – Eight players qualified for this week’s Korn Ferry Tour Live + Work in Maine Open earlier today at the Monday Qualifier, held at The Ledges Golf Club in York, Maine. The eight players will compete in this week’s Korn Ferry event at Falmouth Country Club in Falmouth, Maine.
With over 100 professional and amateur golfers from across the country making the trip to the Northeast for a chance at a Korn Ferry Tour event start, eight separated themselves from the field. Seven players tied for first place shooting five-under, 67: Dominic Bozelli, PGA (Auburn, AL), Joshua Mccarthy (Danville, Calif.), Mark Lawrence, PGA (Richmond, VA), Colin Monagle, PGA (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.), Dylan Naidoo, PGA (Johannesburg, AR), Daniel Hudson, PGA (Chicago, IL), and Barrett Kelpin, PGA (Kalamazoo, Mich.).
Bozzelli put up two birdies on the front nine and four through the back nine. Mccarthy carded five birdies on the back nine to add to his solo birdie on the front, earning a tie for the first place spot. Lawrence also carded six birdies on the day while Monagle posted seven. Hudson, Naidoo and Kelpin all finished the front nine -2 and the back -3 to claim a share of the top spot.
Richard Gerard, PGA (Stuart, Fla.) and Andy Pope, PGA (Glen Ellyn, IL) tied the round at four-under, 68, to force a two-man playoff for the final qualifying spot.
Gerard snagged the final qualifying spot, in a two-for-one playoff, with a par on the first hole.
