LAS VEGAS – The 2019 edition of the New England PGA Las Vegas Pro-Am teed off on Monday with 230 New Englanders enjoying warm and sunny weather at TPC Las Vegas and Shadow Creek.
The Falmouth Country Club team, led by Shawn Warren, PGA, grabbed the 18-hole lead at 18-under par 126 at Shadow Creek, four strokes better than the next best team to play Shadow Creek on Monday. Warren made six birdies on his own card on Monday, shooting 2-under par 70.
Hatherly Country Club, led by Chip Johnson, PGA, sits in second-place after shooting 15-under par 127 at TPC Las Vegas in the 2-best ball of 5 (one gross, one net) format.
Winchester CC, led by Eric Barlow, PGA, shot 14-under par and The Bay Club, led by John Paesani, PGA, and Webb Heintzelman’s Turner Hill team each shot 13-under par as a team.
Twenty nine of the 46 teams in the tournament were under par on Monday. The 54-hole tournament continues Tuesday at Southern Highlands and TPC Las Vegas, and wraps up on Wednesday at Southern Highlands and Shadow Creek.
