BOYLSTON, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted the Parent-Child Scramble on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, Mass. The event gave PGA Professionals the opportunity to team up with one of their children or one of their parents in a two-player scramble. Teams competing with a child were divided into three age groups: 18 and older (combined with Pro + Parent teams), ages 13–17, and ages 12 and under. The Parent-Child Scramble provided a fun and memorable day for New England PGA Professionals to enjoy friendly competition alongside their families.
The team of Greg Farland, PGA and Grace Farland captured the Parent-Child Scramble title with an impressive 11-under-par 61. Starting on the 16th hole, the duo caught fire with a remarkable stretch of five consecutive birdies on holes 2 through 6. They posted 5-under on the front nine before closing with a 6-under back nine, highlighted by nine birdies and an eagle to secure the victory by two shots.
Finishing in second place at 9-under-par 63 was the team of Matt Arvanitis, PGA and Andy Arvanitis. The pair carded nine birdies during their round, including a 6-under front nine, before playing the back nine in 3-under to earn runner-up honors.
The event featured beautiful weather, making for a perfect day of 18 holes, friendly competition, and quality time with family.
