
Mattapoisett, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted the 2026 NEPGA Acushnet Golf Pro-Assistant Championship on a beautiful Tuesday, just after Memorial Day, at The Bay Club in Mattapoisett. 182 players, including a total of 113 teams, came out to compete in the 1BB of 2 Gross event.
Six teams found themselves at the top of the leaderboard, including repeat winners and host team, Greg Yeomans, PGA and Greg Kelly, PGA of the Bay Club. Jeff Martin, PGA teamed up with Liam Friedman, PGA and Patrick Hohman, PGA and both duos found themselves in the share of first place along with the team of Bryan Kienke, PGA and Owen Manning from Cohasset Golf Club, Jason Winslow, PGA and Arthur Griffin from Eastward Ho!, and Matt Stephens, PGA and Patrick Beahn, PGA from Blackstone National.

Martin, Friedman and Hohman were the first group off the first tee at 7:30 a.m., while Kienke and Manning teed off at the same time on the par-4, 10th hole. Yeomans and Kelly were the first group off in the afternoon wave, at 12:10 p.m. and were followed by a supportive group of members from The Bay Club to cheer them on. Winslow and Griffin were the second to last team to tee off the 10th hole while Stephens and Beahn were the last group off one.

Hohman and Martin finished with a bogey-free scorecard. The fired things up with birdies on 2, 3, and 4, making the turn at 3-under. Back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11 moved them to 5-under and they posted two more on 13 and 15 to finish at the top of the leaderboard.
Martin and Friedman were also bogey-free. They found birdies on holes 3,4, and 6 to also make the turn 3-under. They were 6-under through 15 and one more birdie on the par-4 18th hole moved them to 7-under to join his fellow Wollaston team.
Kienke and Manning started the round strong with 4 birdies on back nine. A bogey on the par-3 12th hole put them at 3-under making the turn to the front. Birdies on 3 and 6 brought them to 5-under with 3 to play. They clinched their final two birdies on their final two holes, 8 & 9, to join the top of the leaderboard.

Yeomans and Kelly set the bar high in 2025 and met it again in 2026, posting the same 7-under winning score both years. The duo finished with a bogey-free scorecard. They held even through the opening 5 holes of the round before opening the flood gates with back-to-back birdies on the par-5 6th hole and par-4 7th hole. One more birdie on the front, on the par-3 9th hole put them at 3-under at the turn. Three more quick birdies on the first three holes of the back nine moved them to 6 under. The duo played clean together, marking one more birdie on the 17th hole to jump up into the share of first place.
Winslow and Griffin made four birdies through their opening nine holes of the day, making the turn at 4-under. Birdies on holes 3 and 4 moved the duo to 6 under, and one more on the par-4 8th hole clinched them a spot at the top of the leaderboard and a share of the title. They finished the day with a bogey-free card.

Stephens and Beahn also made the turn at 4-under with 4 birdies on their scorecard. They played a smooth back nine, posting birdies on 11, 14, and 15, two par-5s and a par-3, to join the group at the top in the final stretch of the day.
