The Vermont Chapter’s premier individual championship returned August 3-4 as professionals from across the state competed over 36 holes at Burlington Country Club and Vermont National Country Club. Two outstanding venues provided an excellent test of golf, with the championship ultimately coming down to consistency over two demanding rounds.
Curt Goldsberry of The Quechee Club claimed the 2026 Vermont PGA Stroke Play Championship, finishing at 1-over-par 144. Goldsberry opened with an even-par 72 at Burlington Country Club before matching that score with another 72 at Vermont National.
Josh Upson of Country Club of Vermont finished runner-up at 2-over-par 145. Upson held a share of the lead after an impressive opening-round 70 at Burlington Country Club and remained in contention throughout the final round before finishing just one stroke behind Goldsberry.
David Jankowski and Kevin Bennison each finished at 5-over-par 148. Jankowski improved by two shots on Tuesday with a final-round 73 at Vermont National, while Bennison matched him with rounds of 75 and 73 to earn a share of third. Kellen Peery rounded out the top five at 7-over-par 150, giving Golf Garage two professionals among the championship’s top five finishers.
The Senior Championship title went to David Jankowski, who added another accomplishment to an already successful cabinet of awards. Jankowski’s 36-hole total of 148 finished seven strokes clear of Jason Sherman, while Mike Slayton and Susan Fasoldt shared third place.
The Vermont Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the memberships and staffs of Burlington Country Club and Vermont National Country Club for serving as outstanding hosts. Both courses were presented in excellent condition and provided a fitting challenge for the Chapter’s marquee championship.
The Chapter also thanks its championship partners — Branded Bills, Cobra Puma Golf, Five Star Golf Cars, Fore.TV, Larkin Hospitality, Tournament Solutions, and the PGA TOUR — for their continued support. A special thank you goes to Fore.TV, whose live coverage throughout both rounds helped showcase the championship and Vermont PGA professionals to golf fans across the region.
Congratulations to Curt Goldsberry, David Jankowski, and all of this year’s champions and competitors on another memorable Vermont PGA Stroke Play Championship.
