Auburndale, Mass. – The New England PGA hosted the 2024 Woodland Pro-Pro Championship at The Woodland Golf Club on a beautiful late October day. 30 teams came out to play in the 18-Hole, Four-Ball Stroke Play event. The round was held as a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21st. The NEPGA welcomed partners: Cobra Puma Golf, DASHCLIP, and Prize Possessions.

The team of Scott Hickey, PGA (Cyprian Keyes GC) and Pete Weatherby, PGA (Green Valley CC) took home the victory, shooting a 6-under, 66 for the top spot on the leaderboard. The duo started the tournament on the second hole, posting an early birdie on the par-4. They were even through the opening nine holes of the day before posting six birdies over the final nine to take the1-stroke win.

The duo of Kyle Puzzo (Framingham CC) and Aaron Walker (Worcester CC) secured solo second place, just one stroke behind the leaders, finishing the round at 5-under, 67. Puzzo and Walker started the round on the 17th hole and posted their first birdies of the day on holes 1 and 2, back-to-back par-4s. The posted two more birdies in the opening nine holes, one on the par-4 5th hole and one on the par-4 7th hole. They traded three birdies and two bogeys on the final nine holes to secure the second place finish at 5-under.

Four teams tied for third place overall, shooting 4-under, 68s: Jeff Martin, PGA (Wollaston GC) and Bob Bruso, PGA (Worcester CC), Brendon Ray, PGA (Point Judith CC) and Jacob Leech, PGA (Walpole CC), the duo of Shawn Warren, PGA (Old Marsh CC) and Sean Barrett, PGA (Falmouth CC), and the team of Todd Scarafoni, PGA (Bass Rocks GC) and Ed Kirby, PGA (The Aquidneck Club).

Martin and Bruso posted five birdies on the day, four coming on the front nine holes. Ray and Leech’s scorecard was highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 16th hole. Warren and Barrett carded six birdies including a one on their final hole of the day, the par-5 11th hole to secure the tie for third. Scarafoni and Kirby had five birdies and just one bogey through 18 holes to earn a share of third place.

A highlight of the day was when Rob Neaton (North Andover CC) knocked in a hole-in-one on the 15th hole.
