CANTON, Mass.  – Just another New England Assistants’ Association (NEAA) Stroke Play event in some difficult conditions. Patrick Hohman of Wollaston Golf Club battled the wind at Wampatuck Country Club, shooting a 3-over 75 to claim the victory over the small field.

Before the field teed off, the NEAA board held its Fall Meeting. Please click HERE to see the presentation.

Hohman began his track for the title with two bogeys on the first four holes but responded on the par-4th 9th hole with a birdie to card a 1-over 37 front nine. En route to his victory, Hohman recorded 12 pars, ranking second in the field. He dropped four bogeys on the back nine before ending with an eagle on the par-4 17th hole. From the fairway, Hohman decided to hole the ball to finish with a 2-over 38 back nine.

Toby Young of Willowbend Country Club finished one stroke away from Hohman’s 75. Young recorded the field’s most number of pars with 13. He posted a 2-over 38 on the front nine with one birdie on the 8th hole. He then replicated the front nine to back nine by shooting the same score, a 2-over 38.

Josh Ancahas of Thomson Country Club earned the last spot in the money by shooting an 8-over 80.

There were six skins on the day with Hohman earning two of them.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and battled the intense wind, and a special thank you to Chris Sacchetti and Matt Cunningham, PGA for hosting the NEAA for this event.

Next up, the NEAA wraps up the season with its stroke play event at Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester, Mass. with tee times beginning at 9 am.
