MARSHFIELD , Mass. – Chris Houston, PGA (Laconia CC) took home the 2023 NEPGA Hudson Cup Title today at Marshfield Country Club. The Hudson Cup is the first Major of the Season for NEPGA Assistant Professionals. The event is named after the former NEPGA Executive Director, Susan Hudson, who worked many years to help NEPGA Assistants. Houston shot a 3-under, 67 to take home the cup!

Brian Christian, PGA (Marshfield CC) claimed solo second place, shooting an even par-70 on the day. Three players tied for third place overall shooting +1, 71: Zane Brownrigg, PGA (Dedham Country & Polo Club) Samuel Cody, PGA (Stonebridge CC), and Chan Longfellow, PGA (Falmouth CC).

Houston bridied four holes on the day and shot par on a total of 13 holes. He finished the front nine shooting 34 and shot a 33 on the back to jump to the 3-under victory.

Christian birdied the par-4 third hole, but after bogeys on four and five he made the turn at +1, 36. An eagle on the 11th hole put him at one-under, but a late bogey on 18 dropped Christian to a final even par-70 for second place overall.

It was a beautiful, sunny day for 18 holes of golf at Marshfield Country Club.

Thank you to Marshfield Country Club Director of Operations James Antonelli, PGA, Head Golf Professional Alec Vozzella, Superintendent Tom Harrington, and the entire MCC staff for hosting the 2023 Hudson Cup. The NEPGA would also like to thank its Hudson Cup partner, Turtleson, represented by Jeff DiBona.
