Fitchburg, Mass. – The New England PGA hosted the Boston Common Golf Pro-Am at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on Monday, June 30th for a 12:00pm shotgun start time. 18 teams, led by NEPGA Professionals made the trip to upper Central Mass to compete in the 2BB of 4, 1 Gross +1 Net tournament. The Kernwood Country Club Team, led by PGA Professional Frank Dully, PGA, took home first place in the team title, shooting a combined 14-under, 126. Dully was joined by amateurs Jack Nicolas, Deb Nicolas, and Sean Dully.
A solo birdie on the last hole by amateur Deb Nicolas sealed the deal for team Kernwood, edging out the win in the Net Division by 1 stroke.
A three-way 1st place tie occurred in the Individual Professional Division title, Rich Berberian, PGA (Vesper CC), Aaron Walker, PGA (Worcester CC), and Todd Cook, PGA (Haverhill CC), all shooting a 1-under 69 through 18 holes. Berberian and Cook notched 4 birdies during their round, and Walker shot the least amount of bogeys out of all other PGA Professionals in the field.
Dully and Kevin Maynard, PGA (Sankaty Head GC) placed second overall, shooting an even par, 70 on the day.
The team of Sankaty Head Golf Club, led by Maynard, placed second in the team division, shooting a combined 13-under, 127.
Dully and his team are invited to play a round at the Sofi Center in November, where the TGL plays, and will be honored at Fenway Park during the Red Sox game on Boston Common Golf Day, August 3rd, on the field.
