Stowe, VT – The Pro-Lady came back to The Club at Spruce Peak this year and did not disappoint. The Club at Spruce Peak is a unique course nestled into the side of a ski slope at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort, with stunning views in every direction, you sometimes forget you are playing in a golf tournament. Well it did not distract the golfers this week with some really good scores. David Jankowski and his team from the Golf Garage VT Kanika Gandhi, Carson Richards, and Jojo Valente had a great display of golf shooting at 140 with 54 points in the 2 best ball of 4 gross Stableford division. Sue Horton and her team from Stowe Country Club, right down the road, Alyssa Barnes, Tracy Webster, and Cheri Campbell, took home the Net division with a 125 and 91 points. Sean Toof defended his home course with some local knowledge and a great putting display with 7 birdies to stay ahead of the field and win by 4 points with 45 of them.
Kellen Peery and his team from the Golf Garage VT Susan Rand, Natalie Lascelles, and Jazz Bruce came in second in the gross division with a 144 and 45 points. In third place in the gross division Tom Mackey and his team from Ekwanok Country Club Grace McDonald, Becky Montgelas, and Anne Brett with a total of 144 with 43 points. In the Net division coming in second place, Sean Toof and his team from The Club at Spruce Peak Diane Wilson, Kerry Sedutto, and Laura Walker shot a total score of 126 with 89 points. In third place in the Net division John Paul and his team from Kwiniaska Golf Club Ashley Bond, Rhonda Colvard, and Kate Mitchell with a total score of 134 with 74 points.
In the Individual Professional side of things, David Jankowski (Golf Garage) came in second with a total score of 72 and 41 points in this week’s Stableford format. Sue Horton (Stowe Country Club) shot 73 with 40 points. Rounding out the top ten Alex Sheehy (Country Club of Vermont) and Tom Mackey (Ekwanok Country Club) 74 and 75 with 37 points, Brennan Earls Vermont National Country Club 77 with 36 points, Mandy Milne (Neshobe Golf Club) 76 with 35 points, Reece Deliare (Williston Golf Club) 76 with 34 points, Mike Zaranek (Brattleboro Country Club) 77 with 33 points, Josh Upson (Country Club of Vermont) 78, Kellen Peery (Golf Garage VT) 78, Ryan Kesten (Vermont National Country Club) 79, with 32 points. The rest of the field Jason Sherman (The Kwini Club) 78 with 30 points, Blake Phillips (Burlington Country Club) 80, John Cleanthes (Haystack Golf Club) 80, with 29 points, Roger King (Sugarbush Golf Club) 82, John Paul (Kwiniaska Golf Club) 81 with 28, Todd Trono (Williston Golf Club) 87, John Goodchild (Vermont Golf Association) 90 with 22 points, and Dan Ruane (Stowe Country Club) 90 with 19 points.
