Boylston, Mass. – February 2026

The Maine Chapter of the New England Professional Golfers’ Association (NEPGA) is proud to announce Rob Jarvis, PGA, Head Golf Professional at Bangor Municipal Golf Course, as the recipient of the 2026 Maine Chapter Professional of the Year Award. This prestigious honor is the highest accolade a Chapter professional can receive, recognizing individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, exceptional performance at their facility, and an unwavering commitment to the PGA of America.

Jarvis, a 32-year veteran of Bangor Municipal, has become a cornerstone of the Maine golf community. Since taking the helm as Head Professional, he has transformed the “muni” experience, growing the membership base from 275 in 2016 to over 400 today. His “Experience and Improvement” philosophy has turned the facility into a premier destination, known for excellent turf conditions and a level of customer service rarely seen at municipal courses.

Beyond the fairways of Bangor, Jarvis’s impact on the New England Section is historic. He served as the 36th President of the New England PGA, becoming the youngest president in the Section’s history and the first to hail from the Maine Chapter. During his tenure, he was the driving force behind the creation of the NEPGA Foundation and led a massive push for professional certification, increasing the number of Certified Professionals in the Section from 2% to 9%.

Jarvis’s leadership style is rooted in empowerment. Whether he is teaching a veteran through the PGA HOPE program—of which Bangor Municipal was a founding site in New England—or mentoring his staff on the importance of the customer experience, Jarvis leads by example. Even as a past Section President, he remains deeply involved at the grassroots level, currently serving as the President of the Maine Chapter through 2027.

Under his guidance, Bangor Municipal has become a hub for competitive golf, co-founding the sell-out Downeast Metro Amateur and hosting several Maine Golf championships, including the upcoming 2026 Maine Senior Amateur Championship.

This award adds to an illustrious list of accolades for Jarvis, who was previously named the NEPGA Assistant Professional of the Year (2013), the NEPGA Professional Development Award winner (2015), and the NEPGA Section Professional of the Year (2020).

The New England PGA congratulates Rob Jarvis on being named the 2026 Maine Chapter Professional of the Year and thanks him for his service, leadership, and lasting contributions to the game of golf.

In addition to Jarvis, the Maine Chapter is proud to announce it’s full slate of award winners:
