Stow, Mass. – Rick Karbowski, PGA (Auburn Driving Range) carded the low round of the day at 1-under, 71, to claim the 2023 NEPGA Pro-Senior Invitational, Individual Professional title on Wednesday. The tournament was held on a beautiful early August day at Wedgewood Pines Country Club in Stow, Mass.

Tom Tobey, PGA (Sandwich Hollows GC) claimed second place in the Individual Professional division, shooting 1-over, 73 on the day. Darin Chin-Aleong, PGA (Rowley CC) claimed solo third place, carding a 3-over, 75 and  Shawn Durocher, PGA (Cyprian Keyes GC) rounded out the top three, shooing 2-over, 74 for solo third place in the event.

Karbowski started the round strong with a birdie on the par-4 first hole at Wedgewood Pines. He went on to bogey the par-3 second hole, but finished the front with one more birdie on the par-4 8th hole. He made the turn at 1-under. After a double-bogey on 11 set Karbowski back, he bounced back with birdies on holes 14 and 16, both par-3 holes, to capture the final victory at 1-under.

Tobey traded two birdies and two bogeys through the opening nine holes of the day, making the turn at an even par, 36. Bogeys on 10 and 11 put himat 2-over, but a late birdie on the par-5 15th hole moved him to just 1-over to claim second place overall.

Durocher made the turn at 2-over carding two birdies on the front nine. Two more birdies and a pair of bogey on the back gave her the even 36 on the back and final 2-over, 74 for second place overall.

In the gross team format, the Auburn Driving Range team, lead by Karbowski, and the Cyprian Keyes GC team lead by Shawn Durocher, PGA, posted best-ball scores of 7-under par, 65, to share the victory. Both team carded seven birdies in the round.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The two teams edged the Nabnasset Lake CC team, led by Head Professional, Dan Gillis, PGA, by just one stroke. The Nabnasset Lake CC team took home third place in the gross team format, shooting 6-under, 66. As a team they carded seven birdies and one bogey.
