Middleton, Mass. – Ed Kirby, PGA (The Aquidneck Club) and Robert Tramonti, PGA (Triggs Memorial GC) claimed the 2026 NEPGA Pro-Pro Match Play Championship title over Frank Dully, PGA (Kernwood CC) and Todd Scarafoni, PGA (Bass Rocks GC) on Tuesday, May 12th at Ferncroft CC. Kirby and Tramonti came off a runner-up finish in 2025, claiming their very first Pro-Pro Match Play Championship title, finishing 5&4 over Dully and Scarafoni.

In the first semifinal match, Shawn Warren, PGA (Bates College) and Matt Arvanitis, PGA (SNHU) took on Dully & Scarafoni. Dully and Scarafoni played a stellar round, finishing 4&3 over Warren and Arvanitis to earn a spot in the final match. “When we turned up, that was really good for us and we were able to take that momentum into the back nine…we are both in every single hole, no matter who we are playing,” said Scarafoni.

Kirby and Tramonti, the tournament’s sixth seed, kicked off the semifinal round with Jake Leech, PGA (Walpole CC) and Brendon Ray, PGA (Point Judith CC). Kirby and Tramonti prevailed, with a 5&4 semifinal match victory. “Play our game, try to hit greens, and try to make some putts,” was the duos game plan heading into the afternoon final match.

In the Championship Match, the teams of Dully and Scarafoni and Kirby and Tramonti teed up at 12:30 p.m. as temperatures started dropping and the wind picked up. The two teams were all square through the opening three holes, but Tramonti & Kirby posted birdies on 4 and 5 to go 2up. While Dully and Scarafoni bogeyed 7 & 8, Kirby and Tramonti finished with pars, giving them the 4-up lead at the turn. Another birdie for Kirby and Tramonti on the par-4 10th hole, moved them to 5up. Both teams parred the final 4 holes, as Kirby and Tramonti walked away 5-up with 4 holes to play.
