Barre, VT– The Vermont Chapter traveled to historic Country Club of Barre on Monday for the 2025 Chapter Pro-Senior Championship. On an unseasonably cool day, with temperatures in the 50’s to start the day, Vermont’s PGA Professionals and their talented seniors took on CC of Barre to claim top spot in both the Gross and Net competitions.

Jason Sherman and the Kwini Club team.

It was Jason Sherman and his team from The Kwini Club in South Burlington who took first place in the Gross competition, with a solid score of five under par. Individually, Jason Sherman’s season best individual score of 69 earned him second place honors. Mike Zaranek and his Brattleboro CC team slid into second place with an even par score, while Dustin Ribolini of the Quechee Club and Michael Amendola from Williston GC led their teams to a tie for third place at one over par.

Things were very tight in the Net competition, with the top eight teams finishing within six shots of each other. David Jankowski from the Golf Garage VT led his squad to a wonderful eleven under par day, while David took home top spot in the individual professional competition with a stellar four under 67, including an eagle at the par five 15th hole. In a tie for second place in the Net competition, John Cleanthes from Haystack GC and John Paul from Kwiniaska GC steered their team of seniors to a seven under par day. Tor Parker from Lake Morey CC and Dave Christy helped guide their teams to a solid five under par day and a tie for third place.

Following up in the individual professional competition, it was David Jankowski and Jason Sherman who finished first and second, respectively with the only days under par. While Mike Zaranek, Michael Amendola and Mike Slayton finished in the top five to finish in the money for the event. A good day for Mike’s!

In the closest to the pin competition, it was Craig Oshkello who stuck it to 2 feet 10 inches on the par three 7th. Thank you to NUTRL for the sponsored logo balls which Craig was the lucky winner of!

A special thank you to Joe Dingledine and his entire staff at the Country Club of Barre for being such a wonderful host. Despite how hot and dry Vermont has been this summer, CC of Barre was in wonderful condition, a testament to the work Joe and his superintendent do.

The Vermont Chapter returns to action for the final Pro Am of the 2025 season at Dorset Field Club on August 25th. What a summer it has been, be sure to register!
