2025 Chapter Champions, Lucas Langelier and Billy Andrews

Lucas Langelier of Cochecho Country Club survived a four-man playoff to capture his first New Hampshire Chapter of the New England PGA Championship at the North Conway Country Club. Langelier Found himself tied with Jason Sedan from Lake Winnipesaukee CC, Brett Smestad of Rochester CC and Rico Riciputi of The Coach Club at 1 under par at the end of 36 holes. His par on the 2nd playoff hole was enough to take the title.

Rico Riciputi Held the Lead After Day One

Riciputi held a one stroke lead at the end of round 1 by firing a 2 under par 69. Sam Read from Den Brae, Ryan Peffer of the Profile Club and defending champion, Jay Pollini were one back at 70. However, Sedan rallied in round 2 firing a 69 including 33 on the closing 9 while Smestad birdied his final 4 holes to close with a back 9 (-4) 32 and a 69 of his own to catch Riciputi. Meanwhile, Langelier was carving out a gem of his own with a 70 in round 2 including an eagle on #11 to join the party at the top. He then made a solid par on the 2nd playoff hole to seal the deal.

Defending Senior Champion Eric Sandstrum Was in the Hunt Again

In the Senior Division, Portsmouth’s Billy Andrews came from 3 shots behind after round 1 to claim his 5th Senior Chapter Championship. Defending Champion, Eric Sandstrum of Keene CC held a one stroke lead over Greg Sandell of the Golf Club of New England after an opening 1 under par 70. Andrews and Bob McGraw of the Eagle Mountain House were tied for 3rd at 73. In round 2, Andrews, with help from a pair of deuces on the back 9, came in with the only under par round of the day in the Senior Division, posting a 70, just enough to edge Sandstrum and Sandell who were in a playoff last year for the Championship, by one stroke.
