BOYLSTON, Mass. — Tim Loch, PGA headlines the list of 2024 New Hampshire Chapter Award Winners as the recipient of the Golf Professional of the Year.

Loch has been a staple at Cochecho Country Club for 22 years, with 17 of those as Head Professional. Although he stepped down from his role at the end of the 2023 season, his impact at the club is immeasurable.

In his long tenure at Cochecho, Loch has not only seen the club enjoy many successes, but also some challenges, most notably a fire that gutted the entire clubhouse a decade ago. Through it all, he was a pillar of strength for his club, and for his staff. His “roll up your sleeves” approach helped the club operate out of a temporary trailer for an entire season. In recent years he has helped navigate the club through an immense resurgence of growth, and is proud to leave his club at an all-time high level of strength, membership count, and success.

Of the many programs he has run, one which stands out for him personally is a women’s clinic called “TLC” which stands for Tim’s Ladies Clinic. Since it’s inception 12 years ago, there have been more than 180 women attend this weekly clinic, with over 45 of them continuing on to become members at Cochecho Country Club, and several more joining other local clubs.

Loch also ran an extremely successful First Tee clinic each summer, with more than 60 juniors in the 8-week program. Although he was at a private club, he welcomed public kids to attend the clinics, and if they couldn’t afford it they were allowed to participate for free. Loch has also volunteered many times at the Section level to give free clinics and lessons to juniors, and to the wounded warriors program.

Loch is always available for phone calls or meetings with fellow Professionals who are seeking real world advice in the golf industry. His philosophy is that some things can’t be taught in a book, and he is more than happy to share the experience and knowledge he has gained over the years with his fellow PGA Professionals. He continues to have weekly pep talks with several colleagues to help them as they navigate their way through their individual careers.

Loch has been a dedicated member of the NH Chapter, serving as their District Director for 4 years, 2013 through 2016, and served as NH Chapter President in 2017 and 2018. He achieved Certified Professional status in Golf Operations in 2019. He has served on committees such as the Tournament Committee for the NH Chapter in 2019 and the NH Golf Hall of Fame committee in 2018-2023. In addition to this award, Loch was also awarded the New Hampshire Chapter Bill Strausbaugh award in 2017.

Loch is one of six individuals to earn recognition for their service and dedication to their profession as the New Hampshire Chapter announced its full slate of 2024 award winners. The Chapter looks forward to celebrating these recipients throughout the 2024 season and at the NEPGA Awards Banquet this fall.
