LITTLE COMPTON, RI- Bill Maguire and Nick Jagoe defended their title on Tuesday, winning the Rhode Island Chapter’s Sakonnet Pro-Pro for the second year in a row. The duo, both hailing from Wanumetonomy Golf & Country Club, bettered their score from last year by one stoke firing a 5-under 65.

COMPLETE RESULTS

Jagoe and Maguire had some stiff competition in Liam Friedman and Jeff Martin; the Wollaston Golf Club Pros posted a 4-under 66 in just the second group of the day and considering the windy conditions appeared to be the team to beat. However, Jagoe and Maguire were up to the task recording a tournament high six birdies and one eagle. That eagle came on the par-4 8th hole where Maguire holed his approach shot from the fairway. After dropping two shots with a double bogey on 15, Maguire made birdie on the 17th hole to finish one shot ahead of Friedman and Martin.

Zane Brownrigg and Dan Shepherd (Fall River Country Club) finished in 3rd place with a round of 2-under 68, followed by Brian Owens (North Kingstown Golf Course) and Bob Tramonti (Triggs Memorial Golf Course) who shot 1-under 69.

Thank you to Sakonnet Golf Club Head Professional Matt Alwin, PGA and Assistant Professional RJ Soares for being fantastic hosts.  The Rhode Island Chapter would also like to thank Derek Travers and Callaway Golf for their support of the event!
