NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted the first local Pro-Am of the 2026 season on Monday, April 13th at The Country Club of New Bedford. The day was filled with cloudy skies and strong winds, but that didn’t stop 68 players, led by 17 NEPGA Professionals from coming out ready to compete in the early season event.
Shawn Warren, PGA (Bates College) and Cory Mansfield, PGA (Derryfield CC) shared first place in the Individual Professional division, shooting 4-over, 74s through the challenging conditions. Warren carded two birdies on the day, on the par-4 2nd and 6th holes. Mansfield got on the board with a birdie on the par-4 16th hole.
Brent Amaral, PGA (Acoaxet Club) led his team to victory, finishing at 4-under, 136 in the 2 BB of 4, 1 Gross+1 Net division. After making the turn at even-par, two eagles on holes 10 and 17 lifted the group to the 1-stroke victory.
Jack Celment, PGA, assistant PGA Professional at CCNB, led his team to the second place finish, at 3-under, 137.
Special thank you to NEPGA partner, Teesnap for supporting the event and joining us on site. Teesnap ran a closes to the pin contest on the 186-yard, par-3, 7th hole for the chance to win an iPad. Congratulations to Dave Einstein, PGA of the Hyannisport Club on winning the contest!
Thank you to CCNB Head Golf Professional, Richie Packish, PGA and the entire CCNB staff for hosting the NEPGA Pro-Am.
