Cory Mansfield with his Loyal Team Members Chris Stamoulis, Scott Kenniston and Pete Franggos
Derryfield’s Cory Mansfield was the only Professional to break 70, firing a 3-under par 69 to claim Low Pro honors at this week’s NHPGA Pro-Am at the beautiful Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH. Kickstarted by an eagle on the par 4 fourth hole, Mansfield added three more birdies to secure his win which slid him up to second place in the Davis and Towle Insurance Player of the Year Race. Vince Molesky (Apple Hill) got his putter rolling and played one of his best rounds of the year, a 2-under par 70, tying him for second with the red hot Jay Pollini (The Oaks), who widened his points lead to 70 with his finish. Bob McGraw (Eagle Mountain House) was the final member of the under par club at 71 while Hoodkroft’s Eric Soderman cracked the top five at even-par 72.
Mitch Jefferson and his Rochester Team took the Pro-Am Team gross competition with a sizzling 13-under par 59 highlighted by amateur partner Jim Cilley’s 6-under par 66 round of the day. The team also got several birdies from Ryan Martel and Jose Johnson. The Indoor Golf Club captained by Danny Kish was second with 61 followed by rookie Colby Stuarts’s Lake Winnipesaukee group at 62.

Thank you to Vince Runyon, Director of Golf, and Braxton Brown, Assistant Professional who made his Pro Am debut this week, and all the staff at The Omni Mount Washington Resort for your tremendous hospitality. Greg Boucher, Golf Course Superintendent, and his crew have the course in fantastic shape as confirmed by many of our players. Once again the highest peak in the northeast managed to deflect some threatening weather away from the golf course below.

Our Hosts Braxton Brown and Vince Runyon
The Chapter takes a break next week as many of our PGA Professionals will head up to Portland Maine for the New England section Championship, with a chance to qualify for the PGA Professional Championship in April. We will return to Chapter action September 8th at Montcalm.
