MARSHFIELD, Mass – It was a beautiful spring day at Marshfield Country Club as the club played host to the Massachusetts Chapter Spring Meeting and associated Pro-Pro Event. Chapter Professionals convened to enjoy a morning of education from Section and industry leaders, and were greeted with sun when they stepped outside for the noon shotgun start.
30 sides participated in the Four-Ball competition, and all made the most of the day with camaraderie and competitive spirit on full display.
Brian Owens (North Kingstown GC) teamed up with Ed Kirby (The Aquidneck Club) to fire an impressive round of 5-under 65 and capture the victory. The pair marked down 5 birdies on their blemish free scorecard, highlighted by a stretch of three birdies in a row on holes 1, 2, and 3.
Finishing one shot behind the Owens/Kirby duo was Bellevue Golf Club’s Jeff Monteleone and Kevin Fay, who made 6 birdies against 2 bogeys on the day to finish at 4-under 66.
Eric Wilson and Matthew Hillier (The Aquidneck Club) rounded out the podium, finishing in solo third place thanks to their steady play, carding a 3-under 67 total around the Par-70 layout.
Thank you to General Manager James Antonelli, PGA, Head Professional Alec Vozzella, PGA, Superintendent Tom Harrington, and the entire Marshfield Country Club staff for being fantastic hosts!
Coming up next in the Massachusetts Chapter is the start of the season long Mass Chapter Madness Match Play bracket. Spots are still available!
