SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt.- The CC of Vermont team and Assistant Professional Aidan Melville captured the 2022 Pro + 3 Am Championship at Vermont National with a 36-hole score of 19-under par.
The Pro + 3 Am Championship is a 1 BB of 4 competition which annually showcases some of the best amateur talent in the state of Vermont. That was the case again this year as low scores were seen across the board.
Melville was joined on the CCVT squad by amateur golfers Dean Ferrara, Jared Nelson, and Bryson Richards. Nelson and Richards come with some pedigree as both appear to be locks for the Vermont Golf Association’s Pfanner Cup team as they currently sit atop their Player of the Year Rankings.
The CCVT team recorded a staggering 3 eagle, 14 birdies and only a single bogey as the claimed a 2-shot victory over David Jankowski and the Golf Garage VT team. Jankowski who joined by Chaney Noyes, Michael Walsh, and Austin Giroux recorded the most birdies of any team with 18 on the day. Overall, the field of 12 teams made 126 birdies on the day and played the course to 114-under par.
In a tie for 3rd place at 14-under par was the second team from CC of Vermont led by David Bennett as well as Josh Olney and the Orleans CC team.
