A beautiful cool fall day greeted the 26 teams at Montcalm CC for the NHC/NEPGA Pro Am on Monday, September 21. The summer weather has left us, as a cool morning forced us to change tee times to 10:30 and tee off holes one and 10.
Jay Pollini came out with swinging on his way to a 5 under par 67. He made 2 birdies and an eagle to make the turn at 4 under, he made 3 more birdies on the back, but had two bogies in that stretch to finish with that 67. Rich Berberian continued his good play this season shooting a 3 under par 69 to take second place. Traveling from Sterling National, Matt Bradbury also brought his A game shooting a 2 under 70 to settle for third place. Dan Wilkens of Laconia and Jason Malcolm of Nashua shot 1 under par 71’s to tie for 4th place. Nice playing everyone.
The team contest also saw some low scoring. Low pro Jay Pollini led his team from Ridgewood to first place shooting an impressive 15 under par in the one BB gross and one BB net (can’t be the same ball) format. His team consisted of Tim Melanson, Josh Johnson, and Bobby Marulli. In second place was the team from Laconia with PGA Professional Dan Wilkins leading the way. His team of Randy Pike, Steve Wainwright, and Nick Sceggell shot minus 13 to secure that spot. The teams from Vesper led by Rich Berberian and the team from Whip Poor Will tied for 3rd at minus 11.
Next stop on the circuit is at Cochecho CC in Dover on Monday the 28th. A field of 31 teams will make that trip to compete in the 1 BB gross or 1 BB net format.
